CARPENTER

Qualifications:

• Must have completed relevant trade certifications or vocational training in carpentry
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a carpenter is preferred
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to execute carpentry tasks accurately
• Accurately measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials, ensuring proper fit and alignment of components
• Construct, assemble, and install wooden frameworks, doors, windows, partitions, staircases, cabinetry, and other fixtures as require by the project
• Experience with steel frames and wall cladding is preferred
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and efficiently
• Must either be exempt from the English language test or have passed an English test (IELTS or PTE Academic)
• Effective English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and drive a four-wheeled vehicle

Responsibilities:

• Reads plans to determine materials, dimensions, and installation step
• Builds and installs wall and ceiling frames, eaves, and roof trusses
• Assembles walls, floors, stairs, and partitions using nails, screws, and brackets
• Installs windows, doors, and fittings like hinges, handles, and locks
• Repairs and renovates wooden structures by replacing damaged timber
• May build formwork for concrete structures
