FISH FARM

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Should have worked on TILAPIA fresh water closed fish farms
• Should have worked in breeding and rearing of fish for the wholesale or retail trade.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• breed own fish by hatching eggs from adult stock within farm.
• rearing them before selling on to purchasers.
• managing fish habitats throughout the year;
• stock health and welfare issues and grading fish by size and moving them to bigger tanks or other holding units;
• feeding stock either manually or via automated machinery;
• maintaining buildings, equipment and fish habitats;
• making regular checks on water temperature and oxygen content;
• cleaning filters and screens that trap leaves and other debris;
• treating water before releasing it back into the farm;
• harvesting fish when ready for sale;
• selling fish to the public and/or trade customers
