Fire & Safety Technician

Qualifications:

Job Description:

• Frontline respondent to any fire emergency calls and supervises the fire and safety activity on assigned shift(s) at a facility and uses authority to stop any unsafe act.
• Organize pertinent data and document work through the Facilities work
• Conducts an ongoing test program to ensure proper operation of the fire alarm signaling systems and the automatic fire sprinkler system (To include, but not limited to smoke detectors, signals, fire doors, water flows, tamper switches and fire
• Correct, modify, and revise drawings to reflect new installations and changes similarly
• Maintain fire life safety spare parts inventory and other material as needed and Write material requirements of jobs off parts catalogs and working drawings.
• Perform weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual maintenance and inspections on all fire-related
  systems and equipment as the tests relate to NFPA and JCI requirement.
• Generate reports and documentation of Inspection, testing and maintenance activities
• Monitor Fire Doors, Smoke Barrier, Fire Walls, Wall penetrations, Means of Egress, Exit sign, Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) implementation and training, Pre-Construction Risk Assessments (PCRA).
• Conduct fire and safety refresher training
• Performs administrative duties as necessary, i.e., completing timesheets, time and material reports, and any other reports required. Perform facility safety inspection, construction risk assessment and maintain records.
