BIG PRESS OPERATORS

Qualifications:

• Male applicants
• Minimum of 2 years work experience

Job Description:

• Pressers operate steam press machines or hand irons to remove wrinkles from clothing or flatwork items.
• They steam and stretch items by hand to return them to their original measurements, and finish pleated and other garments such as costumes
• As part of their responsibilities, they monitor the printing process, make adjustments to ensure quality, and ensure the machines run safely and efficiently.
• Physical stamina is essential for press operators who stand for long periods of time
• Perform post press operations including: scheduled DI press maintenance on a daily and weekly schedule; bindery, finishing and shipping preparation, including operation of electronic paper cutter, paper folders and other bindery equipment as required
