Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years working experience in beekeeping, honeybee management, or commercial apiary operations OR at least 3 years hands-on experience combined with relevant formal qualification in the field.
• Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s / College Degree in Agriculture or a related field.
• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Beekeeping or a closely related qualification is highly preferred.
• Strong experience in queen bee rearing is highly desirable.
• Experience in instrumental insemination of queen bees is an advantage.
• Experience in performance testing, data recording, and charting is an advantage.
• Proven ability to manage teams, assign tasks, and oversee operational workflows.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Physically fit and capable of working in outdoor agricultural environments.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations of a commercial apiary and oversee honeybee colonies.
• Monitor hive health, productivity, and seasonal colony performance.
• Supervise, train, and delegate tasks to subordinate staff and field workers.
• Oversee queen bee rearing programs and breeding activities.
• Maintain accurate records of colony performance, production data, and breeding outcomes.
• Perform or assist in instrumental insemination of queen bees (advantageous).
• Conduct performance testing of colonies, including data recording, charting, and analysis.
• Prepare, monitor, and control operational budgets and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with biosecurity measures, disease prevention, and pest control protocols.
• Maintain adherence to workplace safety standards and agricultural best practices.
