Qualifications:

• At least High School graduate
• At least 3 years related experience
• Requires advanced technical competency, strong situational awareness, and the ability to complete complex scaffold builds while maintaining safe work practices.

Responsibilities:

• The Scaffolder will be responsible for erecting, altering, and dismantling aluminium scaffolding systems for residential projects across Southeast Queensland. The role involves ensuring all scaffold structures comply with the Scaffold Code of Practice 2021 (QLD), WHS legislation, and BT Scaffolds’ internal safety and quality procedures.
• Read and interpret scaffold plans, drawings, and site instructions.
• Erect, modify, and dismantle aluminium scaffolding systems (Quickstage, Aluminium Frame, and proprietary systems used by BT Scaffolds).
• Install guardrails, platforms, ties, braces, ladders, stretcher stairs.
• Ensure scaffold structures are level, plumb, and compliant with load and height requirements.
• Conduct site risk assessments and identify hazards prior to commencing work.
• Ensure all structures meet the Scaffold Code of Practice 2021, WHS Act & Regulation, and manufacturer specifications.
• Tag scaffolds using appropriate inspection tags (e.g. green tags).
• Report unsafe conditions, structural issues, or site hazards immediately.
• Safely operate and maintain hand tools, impact drivers, ratchets, levels, and torque equipment.
• Load and unload scaffold components from trucks and trailers.
• Ensure correct selection and use of scaffold components, including frames, braces, transoms, base jacks, and platforms.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
• Employment certificates
• NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
• PEOS certificate
