ONCOLGY NURSE

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years work experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities:

  • Care of neutropenia, rely relevant investigation reports oncologist with priority.
  • Education to patients regarding home care. eg: colostomy, urostomy, tracheostomy care, tube feeding etc.
  • Assist patients in meeting nutritional needs. Oral / assisted/ parenteral feeds.
  • Participate in planning and implementing continuous quality control programs for improving nursing care and training at PIH.
  • Assist with oncology investigation procedures.
  • Recognize oncologic emergencies and intimate to the treating oncologist.
  • Care of ports/ PIC Lines/ central Lines/ Pumps.
  • Manage side effects of cancer treatment and efficient pain management.
  • Prepare and Administer chemotherapy and monitor their improvement.
  • Assess and prepare and counsel patients and family for chemotherapy.

PIH is one of the few hospitals in the country equipped with comprehensive Imaging Suite include Digital X-ray, MRI, CT scan, Ultrasound and Mammography , and equipment like 64 Slice CT Angio and state of the art 1.5 Tesla MRI machines.
