FLOOR TAPPER

Qualifications:

• With experience in blister copper tapping or similar metallurgical operations.
• Strong understanding of Flash furnace tapping procedures and safety protocols.
• Familiarity with PPE, molten metal handling, and high-temperature process safety.
• Ability to work in a hot, physically demanding environment and respond to process conditions.
• Team player with good communication skills and a strong safety mindset.

Responsibilities:

• Perform tapping of Matte, Slag and Blister from Flash furnaces in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Operating tapping machine safely and effectively.
• Clean and prepare launder systems after tapping operations.
• Training the workforce in preparing the polish plugs , Lancing operations, Cleaning the face plate etc
• Inspect tap holds and assist in preparation, opening, plugging, and maintenance as required.
• Coordinate with Team loader and supervisors during tapping.
• Identify and report any abnormal conditions, such as furnace behavior, launder leaks, or unsafe situations.
• Ensure proper housekeeping around tapping floor areas and adherence to critical safety controls.
• Mentoring newly recruited work force in tapping operations.
• Perform other duties as required.
