Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree of Animal Science or Agricultural related course
- English Skills (INTERMEDIATE / HIGHER)
- Verifiable work experience
- Valid Passport, TESDA Certification & Drivers License
- You must have a minimum of 7 years experience in a commercial piggery or livestock production.
- Strong understanding of pig breeding, farrowing, and animal welfare standards.
- Experience in handling and transporting pigs safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with feed systems, piggery machinery, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a hands-on farm environment.
Responsibilities:
- Your Role: As a Senior Stockperson (Piggery), you will be responsible for overseeing animal husbandry, health management, breeding, and farm maintenance tasks. You will play a key role in ensuring the welfare of livestock, maintaining high production standards, and supporting daily operations across the farm.
- Implement biosecurity and quarantine protocols to maintain herd health.
- Monitor pig health and welfare, including vaccinations, feeding, and routine treatments.
- Assist in breeding activities, including heat detection, mating, and farrowing support.
- Oversee grow-out operations, ensuring optimal conditions for weaners and growers.
- Perform basic maintenance on farm machinery, sheds, and feeding systems.
- Keep accurate records of herd performance, health treatments, and breeding outcomes.
- Identify and report any animal health or infrastructure issues to management.
- Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards and farm protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in sheds, pens, and equipment.
- Train and mentor junior staff in stock handling and farm procedures.
