Senior Network Engineer I – Network Reliability
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced telecom/communications certifications
- 8+ years’ experience in large service provider environments designing and troubleshooting complex multi-domain networks
- Expert-level skills in routing protocols, network monitoring tools, packet analysis, and Visio diagramming
- Proven experience in lab testing, proof-of-concept, and quality assurance
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work any shift, weekends, and variable schedules
- Valid driver’s license required
- Stand, sit, walk, or travel for extended periods
- Lift up to 25 lbs; work indoors under varying conditions (dust, noise, heat, poor lighting)
- May require nights, weekends, and extended hours to meet operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Network Design & Architecture – Design and implement IP/MPLS, optical, wireless, voice, and IPTV networks; ensure scalability, redundancy, and security.
- Advanced Troubleshooting – Serve as escalation for complex service issues; perform root cause analysis using packet analyzers, traceroute, and other diagnostic tools.
- Project Leadership – Lead rollouts, migrations, and upgrades; define scope, timelines, and deliverables; guide cross- functional teams
- Optimization & Capacity Planning – Monitor performance, plan capacity growth, and drive initiatives to improve reliability and efficiency
- Vendor Management – Coordinate with vendors for support, hardware/software upgrades, and performance benchmarking
- Network Automation – Automate provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting with tools like Python or Ansible
- Documentation & Standards – Maintain network diagrams, design standards, and compliance with industry regulations. Mentorship – Coach junior engineers and review technical work.
