Data Center IT Administrator
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years in IT systems administration, preferably in data centers. Bachelor’s in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience/certifications.
- Skilled in Windows/Linux admin, Azure cloud, virtualization, automation (PowerShell/Python), and security principles.
- Knowledge of backup/recovery, troubleshooting, and documentation best practices.
- Certifications (e.g., Security+, Azure Admin, VCP-DCV) preferred.
- Lift/move up to 50 Ibs, install/remove rack equipment, work in varying positions.
- Operate in data center environments with background noise, temperature changes, and confined spaces.
- On-call rotation for incident response; work across multiple data center sites.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows/Linux servers and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox). Manage Azure AD/Entra ID, Active Directory, and Group Policies.
- Perform OS patching, firmware updates, and hardware maintenance.
- Automate tasks and reporting with PowerShell and Python.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address issues.
- Implement and manage security controls, firewalls, and IDPS.
- Respond to threats, maintain compliance (ISO 27001), and update SOPs.
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
