Barge Engineer (2nd Engineer)

Qualifications:

  • Must be a qualified Second Engineer to fit the job.
  • Degree in Marine Engineering or Electrical Engineering with valid documentation, with atleast two years’ experience as Second Engineer.
  • a. STCW certificates, b. Certificate of Competency/Proficiency, c. Seaman Book, d. Training & Experience Certificates , STCW III/2, STCW VI/17
  • Must have valid MARLIN English Test Certificate or equivalent maritime English proficiency
  • Oil and Chemical tanker experience will be an added advantage.
  • Well spoken and written English 10\10
  • Has Excellent knowledge of Marine Operations and has operational knowledge and technical skill as well as being able to understand the barge / shore interface

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee barge reliability and safe operations and providing daily operational guideline to direct report and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Compliance to class survey (ABS)
