Qualifications:

• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Minimum of 3 years work experience
• An entry-level chef who assists in food preparation, basic cooking, and maintaining kitchen hygiene.
• Basic Cooking & Food Preparation Training (vocational or hospitality school)
• Prior experience in a hotel, restaurant, or catering service is beneficial.
• Basic understanding of kitchen stations (hot kitchen, cold kitchen, pastry, butchery, etc.).
• Ability to follow instructions from Commis II, Commis I, and senior chefs

Responsibilities:

• Reports To: Commis II / Commis I / Chef de Partie / Sous Chef
• Assist in cutting, chopping, peeling, and marinating ingredients.
• Help with basic cooking tasks like boiling, grilling, and sautéing under supervision.
• Support in plating and garnishing dishes according to instructions.
• Follow recipes and portion control guidelines.
• Work under Commis II, Commis I, Chef de Partie, and Sous Chef.
• Help in stock checking and ingredient preparation for service.
• Observe and learn different kitchen techniques from senior chefs.
• Ensure that kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use.
• Rotate between different kitchen sections based on operational needs.
