Qualifications:
- Proven experience in product sourcing, negotiation, and vendor management.

- Strong understanding of retail market trends, customer behaviours, and competitor landscape.
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret sales data and make informed buying decisions.
- Leadership qualities to manage and motivate the purchasing team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Excellent IT skills and willingness to learn new systems and make continual improvements keeping up with technological advances.
- Able to travel internationally several times during year to meet with overseas suppliers
- Remuneration package will be commensurate with candidate work experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse market trends, customer data and competitor analysis to identify potential products to stock
- Forecast sales demand and plan inventory levels to optimize stock turnover.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage to prevent overstocking or shortages.
- Implement strategies to minimize excess inventory through promotions or markdown management.
- Source new suppliers and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Lead and mentor a small purchasing team.
- Analyse sales data and profitability metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Set pricing strategies to maximize profit margins while remaining competitive.
- Lead marketing staff to align product launches with promotional campaigns
