Financial Accountant (Tax & Treasurer)

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Good technical knowledge in tax and accounting, including but not limited to regional India sub-continent countries’ statutory tax requirements.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in financial analysis and forecasting.
• Knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP and/or Oracle.
• Experience in a multinational or cross-cultural work environment.
• Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
• Great organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Gather and monitor financial data (e.g. sales revenues and liabilities)
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements)
• Forecast costs and revenues and Manage tax payments
• Organize internal audits and Prepare budgets (for the entire company and by department)
• Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies and Conduct detailed risk analyses to assess potential investments
• Analyze financial trends and Perform month-end and year-end close processes

The principal business of WR Carpenter & Co Limited was the purchase of island produce and the selling of general merchandise.
