AIRCRAFT FITTER

Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience
  • Solid understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
  • Good physical strength and stamina
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent math skills and aptitude for geometry
  • Comfortable with shift work arrangement

Responsibilities:

  • Perform fitting and hand rework activities for aero engine parts
  • Inspect, repair, remove and replace aircraft structures, components, sub-assemblies and systems
  • Measuring and marking out materials to carry out precision repairs to aircraft
  • Assembly, repair and replacement of pipe work for aircraft and engine systems
  • Precision drilling and finishing of holes in aircraft assemblies
  • Set up and operate machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders, to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to specifications
