Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar culinary role.
- Candidates must possess a Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Food and Beverage Preparation/Service Management or a related field.
- Passion for food preparation and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, as required by hotel operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Demi Chef de Partie, Commis I, and other senior chefs in the daily kitchen operations.
- Prepare ingredients and assist in the cooking and presentation of menu items according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and senior kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in assigned work areas in accordance with hotel policies and food safety regulations.
- Properly handle, store, and label food products to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any equipment issues to supervisors.
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing food supplies and kitchen inventory.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and service teams to deliver exceptional guest dining experiences.
