WAREHOUSE MANAGER

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in warehouse or logistics management.
• Strong knowledge of inventory systems and warehouse operations
• Good understanding of WHS standards and compliance.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Competent in MS Office and warehouse management systems (WMS)
• Valid forklift license (advantage but not mandatory, depending on company requirement)

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels through regular stock counts and reconciliations
• Implement and enforce warehouse policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and minimize damages, losses, and expiries.
• Coordinate inbound/outbound logistics with suppliers, transporters, and internal teams.
• Monitor warehouse performance KPIs and implement improvements where required.
• Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff, including rostering and performance management.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance within the warehouse environment.
• Oversee equipment usage and ensure timely maintenance (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
• Prepare and submit required reports (inventory, variances, dispatch, receiving).
• Support audits, investigations, and corrective actions for warehouse irregularities

Employer Overview:

GLOBE Manufacturing began as a family business (James Barnes Pty Ltd.) in Australia in 1881.
Through a superior distribution system, the GLOBE Cannery provides competitively priced, high quality packaged food products to the PNG and Regional consumer markets under its major brands GLOBE, Sita and Sunsweet.

The company grew and began exporting corned beef to Papua New Guinea shortly after World War II. A 1983 PNG government white paper on international development identified meat canning as an industry that should be established in PNG. A feasibility study was undertaken and in November 1984 an agreement was signed between James Barnes Pty Ltd. of Australia and the Papua New Guinea Government.

Granted sole manufacturing rights for canned meats in the country, 30 acres of alienated swampland was leased in Madang for the construction of a meat cannery that met USDA and EEC standards. While initially planned as a meat canning facility only, GLOBE began restructuring and diversifying its operations in 1987 to include canned dripping, canned cake rolls, canned hot packs, and PVC bottle manufacturing and filling.

Now offering over 86 varieties of packaged foods, with 52 of this under the GLOBE brand, the company has developed into one of the premier food packaging operations in the South Pacific Region.
