LAB TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- Female applicants
- Minimum of 3 years work experience
- Proficiency in scientific procedures, analytical thinking, and attention to detail are essential.

- Competency with relevant software packages and the ability to maintain digital records.
- An associate’s degree or equivalent college experience in a relevant science is often required, though some positions may accept a high school diploma for entry-level roles.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and analyze data to find solutions.
- The ability to work effectively with others is crucial.
- With experience, technicians may advance to supervisor positions or management roles.
- Experienced technicians can specialize in areas like hematology, clinical chemistry, or blood banking.
- Further qualifications, such as a degree in a specialized field, can lead to roles in research and development.
Responsibilities:
- A laboratory technician performs tests, analyses, and experiments according to established procedures, analyzes and records data, maintains and calibrates equipment, and ensures the lab is clean and organized.
- Key duties include preparing specimens,
- Performing tests: Conduct laboratory tests and experiments, which may include analyzing bodily fluids, tissues, chemicals, or environmental samples.
- Data and record keeping: Accurately record, analyze, and report test results. Maintain detailed logs and equipment records.
- Equipment maintenance: Set up, calibrate, clean, and maintain lab equipment, including troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance.
- Specimen and sample management: Receive, label, and safely store samples. Prepare specimens for analysis.
- Inventory and supplies: Manage lab supplies, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining inventory of reagents, chemicals, and glassware.
- General lab upkeep: Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the lab environment and properly dispose of waste.
