F&B Server

Qualifications:

•  High school diploma or equivalent (some restaurants may prefer vocational or college education in hospitality or related fields)
• Basic food handling and safety knowledge (training or certification may be required)
• Previous experience in food service is preferred but not always required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good customer service skills and ability to handle complaints politely
• Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays or plates for long period

Responsibilities:

Before

• Prepare dining area – set up tables, chairs, utensils, glassware, condiments, and service stations.
• Replenish napkins, condiments, and supplies at service stations.
• Set up the cashiering station – check POS/cash register, prepare change fund, ensure receipts and supplies are ready.
• Conduct pre-shift checks to ensure readiness of both dining area and cashiering.
• For night markets and similar activities: assist in setting up booths, stalls, tables, cashiering stations, and other event equipment as instructed.

During

• Welcome and seat guests, present menus, and assist with food and beverage selections.
• Take and relay accurate orders to kitchen/bar.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
• Monitor guest satisfaction, refill beverages, and attend to requests.
• Upsell menu items, specials, and promotions.
• Handle guest payments at the cashiering station: process cash, card, or other transactions accurately.
• Issue receipts and manage bills with proper documentation.
• Ensure guest safety and comfort during the restaurant dining service.
• For night markets and similar activities: assist with booth service, manage guest flow, and operate event cashiering as assigned

After

• Clear tables, collect used linens, dishes, and service items.
• Reset dining area and service stations for the next operation.
• Clean and sanitize all service areas, utensils, and cashiering station.
• Reconcile cashiering: count cash, balance POS transactions, and prepare end-of-day sales report.
• Dispose of waste properly and follow closing safety protocols for the restaurant.
• Wash, iron, fold, and neatly set linens on table
• For night markets and similar activities, assist in packing up booths, returning equipment, disposing of waste, and restoring event areas
• Report any issues or concerns to the immediate supervisor
• Recommend improvements to enhance operations and guest service.
