Laboratory Technician (Paint System)

Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years of experience In paint/coating laboratory testing is required.
• Familiarity with EN 13523 standards and common coil coating procedures.
• Proficiency in using spectrophotometers, gloss meters, thickness gauges, adhesion testers, UVA and salt spray chambers.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret test results accurately.
• Good communication skills and ability to use MS Office for reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct testing of incoming raw materials including metal coils, paint systems, solvents, and chemical pretreatments.
• Perform paint and coating tests during and after production, Including: o Film thickness o Gloss and color (LlE) o Adhesion (crosshatch, peel)
• Perform paint and coating tests during and after production, Including: o Flexibility (T-bend, cupping, impact) o Chemical resistance (MEK rub,
  solvent tests) o Salt spray and corrosion resistance o Hardness (pencil, Konig)’
• Ensure all testing is documented clearly and accurately, with full traceability.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and ensure testing is performed in line with EN 13523 standards.
• Collaborate with production and QA teams to identify and resolve coating issues.
• Assist with raw material approvals and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
