DIESEL MECHANIC
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ as a Diesel Mechanic working on fleet vehicles/trailers etc.
- Trade Qualified – Mechanic/Diesel Fitter
- Qualification in operating Heavy Vehicles
- Must be at least a graduate of 1-year vocational course or Completed at least 1 year in college.
- Passionate about all things mechanical with an ability to think critically and creatively to help in diagnosing complex mechanical problems
efficiently - A meticulous approach ensuring every aspect of the machinery is thoroughly assessed
- Experience with Freightliners, Fuso and Mercedes On-highway trucks, ISUZU and Hino Rigid Trucks and airbag/spring suspension trailers.
- Knowledge of Occupational, Health and Welfare Act and application to the workplace.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License. Valid Forklift License (LF)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct mechanical assessments for diagnosis and fault finding in machinery ensuring efficient repair, maintenance and servicing to keep our
fleet on the road - Service the entire fleet including trucks, trailers, dollies and motor vehicles in adherence to our Maintenance and Workshop procedures.
- Identify issues, recommend solutions and perform replacement of brakes, suspension components and steering systems
- Conduct body building tasks, including welding and grinding of chassis or comb rails on flat top trailers
- Handle auto electrical work on 12V or 24V systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical
- Replace worn or damaged parts, ensuring adherence to Quality Standards and Manufacture Specifications. Any other duties as required
