DIESEL MECHANIC

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years’ as a Diesel Mechanic working on fleet vehicles/trailers etc.
• Trade Qualified – Mechanic/Diesel Fitter
• Qualification in operating Heavy Vehicles
• Must be at least a graduate of 1-year vocational course or Completed at least 1 year in college.
• Passionate about all things mechanical with an ability to think critically and creatively to help in diagnosing complex mechanical problems
  efficiently
• A meticulous approach ensuring every aspect of the machinery is thoroughly assessed
• Experience with Freightliners, Fuso and Mercedes On-highway trucks, ISUZU and Hino Rigid Trucks and airbag/spring suspension trailers.
• Knowledge of Occupational, Health and Welfare Act and application to the workplace.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License. Valid Forklift License (LF)

Responsibilities:

• Conduct mechanical assessments for diagnosis and fault finding in machinery ensuring efficient repair, maintenance and servicing to keep our
  fleet on the road
• Service the entire fleet including trucks, trailers, dollies and motor vehicles in adherence to our Maintenance and Workshop procedures.
• Identify issues, recommend solutions and perform replacement of brakes, suspension components and steering systems
• Conduct body building tasks, including welding and grinding of chassis or comb rails on flat top trailers
• Handle auto electrical work on 12V or 24V systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical
• Replace worn or damaged parts, ensuring adherence to Quality Standards and Manufacture Specifications. Any other duties as required
