Fiber Optic Technician

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of fiber optic cabling & splicing techniques
  • Experience with OTDR, fusion splicers & testing tools
  • Understanding of safety procedures & industry standards
  • Ability to troubleshoot & diagnose network issues
  • Strong communication & teamwork skills

Responsibilities:

  • Install, splice, terminate & test fiber optic cables
  • Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic networks
  • Perform signal strength tests & ensure proper connectivity
  • Use OTDR, power meters & other testing tools
  • Interpret & update network diagrams and blueprints
  • Work with ISPs, contractors & clients for installations
  • Follow safety regulations & industry standards
  • Maintain fiber routes, logs & service reports

Salary and Benefits:
