Responsibilities

  • Skilled technical worker in industrial settings, primarily responsible for overseeing a team of instrument technicians,
  • Managing the day-to-day maintenance, calibration, and repair of process control instrumentation,
    ensuring all work is completed according to safety regulations and company standards, while providing technical expertise and leadership to their crew.
  • Assigning tasks and prioritizing work orders for the instrument technician team.
  • Monitoring team performance, providing feedback, and addressing performance issues.
  • Training and mentoring junior technicians on proper instrument handling and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Diagnosing malfunctions and troubleshooting complex issues with various process instrumentation like pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors, level gauges, etc.
  • Performing preventative maintenance and calibration procedures on instrumentation according to established schedules.
  • Identifying and sourcing necessary spare parts for repairs.
  • Staying updated on new instrumentation technologies and industry best practices.
  • Coordinating instrument installations, upgrades, and modifications during plant shutdowns. Estimating labor and material requirements for maintenance projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant safety procedures and work permits during maintenance activities.
  • Maintaining detailed records of instrument calibrations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Generating reports on instrument performance and identifying potential issues.
  • Collaborating with other departments to identify and address process control concern
