Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification from a trade school or technical program preferred.
• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic of fuel tanker, trucks, excavators, forklift, crusher etc.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and heavy machinery repair equipment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment, such as fuel tankers, trucks, forklifts, crushers, excavator etc.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system issues.
• Repair or replace faulty parts and components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts, and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards. Work with parts suppliers to order and replace necessary components.
• Keep work areas clean and organized, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure equipment is serviced in a timely manner.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure functionality and safety before returning it to service.
