Boiler House Superintendent

Qualifications:

• Minimum requirement of Class 4 Boiler Operator ticket.
• Mechanical Engineering qualifications
• Minimum 5 years experienced with Biomass Boiler operations and RO Water Treatment processes.
• Computer literate with excellent oral and written communication skills
• Supervisory experience with attention to detail and safety
• Experienced Boiler operator and Control Room/Water Treatment knowledge.
• Steam Power generation experience.
• Knowledge in SCADA operations.

Responsibilities:

• The Boiler House Superintendent supervises a team of Shift supervisors, Control Room attendants, RO Water Treatment attendants and Chipper/Loader Operators to ensure the effective performance of the PNGFP Boiler House.
• Substantial experienced and knowledge of Biomass fired Boilers and Industrial Mill equipment requiring steam is essential (e.g. Plymill Operations, Log Steaming, Timber Kilns and Steam Treatment Operations).
• Must possess the physical stamina and skills to properly perform the task.
• Attention to detail is also essential to identify and action safety issues.
• Perform tasks involved in the day-to-day maintenance of Boilers, RO Water Treatment plant and Fuel Supply operations.
• Conduct routine monitoring of RO and Boiler water quality levels, chemical feed dosing system and the fuel supply/mixing ratio to maintain efficient combustion and smooth furnace operations.
• Supervise staff and delegate duties relating to Boiler House and RO Water Treatment plant operations. Provide appropriate instruction feedback.
• Regularly inspect and maintain Boiler House equipment.
• Oversee repairs, replacements and the upgrade of components as required.
• Identify issues and take immediate action to repair and resolve problems.
• Create and update all document records.
• Ensure currency of relevant Boiler House technology.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
• Employment certificates
• NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
• PEOS certificate
