Control System Engineer
Qualifications:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Process Control Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physical Engineering.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Process Control Engineering, Software systems Engineering, or any related discipline.
- Required:5 – 7 years of experience in control system function preferably in O&G Industry.
- Preferred: Experience in Petrochemicals Industry or DCS/SIS systems OEM experiences. 2-3 years at a similar position as Emerson control system engineer for (Q-Chem II), Honeywell control system engineer for (Q-Chem) or Yokogawa control system engineer for(RLOC) and Triconex safety systems.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, maintain, and coordinate control system DCS & Emergency Shutdown system (PES/SIS) engineering activities, design, operation and maintenance for all plant facilities to ensure availability of reliable DCS & SIS.
- Provide technical expertise for the specification, design, purchase, installation, and commissioning of DCS, PLC, Emergency shutdown and safety instrumented systems.
- Provide ongoing technical support to operations and maintenance departments on DCS, SIS, Alarm Management, APC, Historian and PLC system problems.
- Analyze data, troubleshoot performance, conduct root cause analysis, and make recommendations to improve DCS/SIS reliability.
- Closely coordinate with ICS Cyber security to design and maintain the cyber security of the DCS, SIS and ICS Assets.
- Provide scoping, cost estimates, and preliminary engineering design work.
- Design and procure process control components and systems for maintenance, capital projects, and turnaround. Support pre-start up safety audit operations.
- Review and approve design drawings for construction. Coordinate independent engineering reviews when appropriate.
- Prepare of scope of work for DCS/SIS jobs, AFE documents, Loop drawings, cause and effect charts, Interlock narratives
- MOC preparation, approval, Implementation and Pre-start up safety reviews
- Alarm Objective analysis/rationalization and configuration of alarm system as per recommendations/standards, Real Time Alarm management, KPI developments, Weekly/Monthly review, and Management reporting.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
- Employment certificates
- NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
- PEOS certificate

Over US $1 billion was invested to engineer, construct and commission the Q-Chem facility, which began commercial operations in 2004.
Located in Mesaieed Industrial City, the Q-Chem complex has a production capacity of 453,000 metric tons per annum (MTA) of polyethylene and a 1-hexene unit with a production capacity 47,000 MTA. The complex also consists of sulfur recovery and solidification plant, a water treatment plant, seawater cooling system, dock facilities and administrative buildings.
