Refrigeration Mechanic

Qualifications:

• Tertiary education in the Refrigeration Mechanic field
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand tools.
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment and materials.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and practices.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
• Willingness to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor and indoor settings
• Experience in repairs and maintenance of refrigeration reefer containers, bakery ovens and bakery equipment, generator sets, ice machine, cuppa forming machine, security cameras, compressors, UPS systems and GPS systems would work to your advantage
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems is beneficial but not mandatory.

Responsibilities:

• Managing the repairs, maintenance, and installations of refrigeration and HVAC systems, Perform equipment maintenance on a regular basis
• Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as cleaning coils, changing filters, and lubricating parts.
• Inspecting refrigeration and HVAC systems to identify issues and areas that require attention, troubleshooting refrigeration equipment failures/problems and performing basic diagnostic tests.
• Maintain an organized inventory of tools and supplies, ensuring they are readily available for repairs and maintenance, ordering replacement parts and supplies as needed.
• Documenting maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, service reports, and equipment logs, Maintain accurate records of equipment servicing and repairs.
• Conducting performance tests on refrigeration and HVAC systems, Perform calibration of equipment and controls.
• Keep the work area clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient workspace, properly dispose of waste materials and hazardous substances.
