Sous Chef

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as Sous Chef is required for this job.
• Experience should be in a casual / fine dine or hotel.
• Excellent record of kitchen management.
• Keep up with cooking trends and best practices.
• BS degree in Culinary science or related certificates a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities.
• Be involved in the ordering a purchasing including driving to suppliers to pick up produce.
• Be able to control portioning to keep food costs and wastage low
• Initiate procedures and systems to eliminate wastage and pilferage
• Recruit, train and manage kitchen staff; set clear and consistent expectations; improve employee attendance and productivity; ensure company policy is followed.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
• Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
• Handle problems or complaints from customers.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with staff and customers
