FABRICATOR

Qualifications:

• Experience in fabrication of coded pressure vessel, heat exchangers, columns, tanks, piping, skid mounted equipment, structural etc.
• Knowledgeable to read and understand the fabrication drawings, (isometric drawings & orthographic drawings).
• Capable of finding cut lengths of pipes from isometric drawings.
• Workable knowledge of fabrication tolerances as per drawing.
• Familiar with using & reading measuring instruments e.g measuring tapes, Vernier caliper, micro meter, dial gauge, bore gauge, degree bevel protector etc. related to fabrication work
• Familiar with different measuring units & simple linear conversions.
• Workable knowledge in fits & tolerances.
• Having knowledge of reading & speaking English.
• Secondary School education with ITI/NCTVT/Technical school pass, on fabrication trade (Must have NC2)

Responsibilities:

• Perform fabrication work as per construction drawings, client’s standard & specification for pressure vessel, heat exchangers, columns, tanks, piping, skid mounting equipment, structural and miscellaneous fabrication.
• Perform fabrication work at shop as well as at site
• After receiving work instruction from related foremen & supervisor study the activities to be performed. Check the required drawing & documents.
• Maintain own required tools tackles, all safety requirements etc. for the fabrication work.
• Use only identified, & inspected materials at work location & transfer the identification marks on each part and off cut during fabrication for proper traceability.
• Dimensions of each prefabricated item must be checked by fabricator before assembly/final fit-up.
• Marking of layout / developments as per drawings to tally the dimensions,
• Use of proper method, tools, jigs & fixtures to get maximum accuracy & productivity for cutting, edge preparation, fitting etc. as work instruction sheets.
• Perform fit up activities within acceptable limits only, to avoid man-hour loss due to rejection & rework.
• Use minimum tacking on work piece for fit-up work. Remove the takings & dress up before offering for inspection.
• Report concern foreman/supervisor after completion of each activities & get instruction for next activity to avoid any idling / delay,
• Report to concern foreman/supervisor immediately if any breakdown of machine /any problem in performing assigned work to avoid any hold up or delay in fabrication work
• At the end of shift clean & preserve all tools tackles, jigs-fixtures, machines, measuring instruments, consumables etc in proper place,
• Maintain proper housekeeping. Keep clean the working area, tools etc always & keep them in arranged manner
• Any visual defect on weld, nearby surface of weld or on the work piece like undercut, scratch mark temporary tacks must be informed to the foreman/supervisor for rectification before inspection offer,
• All scrap / off cut materials to be kept at designated area.
• Maintain proper handling of different materials as per co’s procedure/work instruction,
