Plummers Industries Pty Ltd is a family owned Western Australian company with substantial operations in Western Australia and Queensland, and is the largest privately owned switchboard manufacturer in Australia.
The company had its humble beginnings in 1957, when Bill Plummer established a spring manufacturing works in Belmont WA to make specialised springs for local machinery manufacturers. Activities soon expanded to include sheet metal fabrication, which developed into switchboard manufacturing in the mid 1970s. Switchboards and associated equipment have been the company’s main focus since 1975.
Design and manufacture of transportable switch rooms began in 1990, in response to a growing demand for suitable, purpose-built, prefabricated, transportable switch rooms and substations for the mining industry. Each year, Plummers Industries designs, constructs and delivers more than fifty (50) fully equiped and tested switch rooms of various shapes and sizes.
