Tyre Fitter

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in tyre fitting, repair, and maintenance for industrial or heavy equipment vehicles (e.g., loaders, trucks, forklifts).
  • Skilled in removing, mounting, and balancing large or off-road tyres using appropriate tools and machinery.
  • Capable of inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing damaged or punctured tyres using patching and vulcanising techniques.
  • Knowledgeable in wheel alignment, rotation, and inflation procedures to ensure safe and optimal equipment performance.
  • With good communication skills and a strong understanding of workplace safety standards and proper handling of heavy lifting equipment.
  • Must be able to provide at least 1 year of recent work references and evidence (documents)

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect tyres for wear, damage, and proper inflation.
  • Remove, replace, balance, and repair tyres on light and heavy vehicles.
  • Operate equipment such as tyre changers, wheel balancers, and alignment machines.
  • Perform wheel alignments and rotation services.
  • Maintain accurate service records and reports.
  • Provide advice to customers on tyre care and replacement needs.
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety standards at all times.
  • Keep workshop tools and equipment in proper working order.
