SSW – WELDER

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years work experience
• Must have a Grade 3 level – Japan Welding Skill Test
• Must completed the JITCO/OTIT Technical internship.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, cutting, or grinding.
• Work in confined spaces, at heights, and under varying weather conditions.
• Cooperate with shipyard teams, including fitters, fabricators, and supervisors.
• Perform welding operations (MIG, TIG, Arc, FCAW, etc.) on ship structures such as hulls, bulkheads, decks, and piping.
