Speech and Language Pathologist
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Has a Speech-Language Pathology Services Certificate
- Philippine License holder; With at least 5 years of experience as a speech and language pathologist
- Regular physical requirements: Sitting, standing, walking, talking, listening, operation of technology such as computers or other appropriate devices.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Responsibilities:
- The Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) provides speech/language services to meet the individual needs of students with oral communication and speech/language impairments.
- The SLP is responsible for screening and assessment; goal development; and planning/implementing appropriate speech and language services to maximize student success in speech/language.
- Evaluate and assess student’s functional status to identify and determine needs for speech/language therapy.
- Select, administer, and interpret speech tests. Gather appropriate and necessary background information on the student’s educational, medical and social issues to properly develop a plan for speech/language improvement.
- Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team and participates in the student support team, IEP, and eligibility meetings as necessary.
- Develops IEPs for students receiving speech/language therapy services and implements therapy sessions that target IEP goals.
- Choose appropriate activities for developing the student’s speech, voice, fluency, and language skills.
- Provides consultation to teachers and staff members to ensure the integration of speech/language development techniques into the student’s classroom routine.
- Monitors student progress, reevaluates IEP objectives, and adjusts delivery of speech/language services, as appropriate.
- Maintains thorough records for each student receiving services at the assigned school(s) and provides related reports. AND Other duties as assigned.
