SHIP HULL FITTER

Qualifications:

• At least 1 or 2 years experienced is required;
• Responsible for assembly, installation and repair of structural parts of ships including the hull, frames, bulkheads and decks;
• Requires precision and keen understanding of shipbuilding blueprints, building techniques, and safety standards;
• Must work closely with other shipbuilding trades to ensure that the vessel’s hull is constructed according to specification and within the scheduled timeline;
• Must have knowledge in installation and securing whole sections, decks, and bulkheads into place using welding, bolting, and riveting techniques.
• Fit and install watertight doors, hatches, and other ship components as needed;
• Requires precision and keen understanding of shipbuilding blueprints, building techniques, and safety standards;
• Perform maintenance and repair on the ship’s hull, including the removal and replacement of damaged sections;
• Conduct routine inspections to identify and fix structural weaknesses or corrosion;
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting shipbuilding blueprints and practical drawings;
• Skilled in wielding cutting and shaping metal components;
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem- solving activities;
• Familiarity with shipyard safety practices and regulation;
• Ability to work in confined spaces at heights and in various weather conditions;
• Physical fit to lift heavy materials and perform strenuous tasks over extended period.

Salary: PHP 90,000+ / 1,500 Euros
