Professional Builder (Construction Foreman)

Qualifications:

• Must be 30+ years old, in good health
• Requires an education background normally equivalent to college level and or equivalent combination of relevant education or experience.
• Should have Supervisory experience for at least 5 years.
• Can communicate in both oral and written English.
• Work requires practical knowledge of the application of building techniques and methods normally acquired through 5 years of carpentry/building experience.
• Mature, stable temperament, able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
• Co-operative friendly manners and able to maintain good working relationship with staff and clients.
• Organized, methodical and responsible habits and physically fit for the job
• Flexible and adoptive approach to problems and with good moral values

Responsibilities:

• Plan and schedule work for the group insuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.
• Estimate time, cost and amount and type of materials and equipment required for projects;
• Supervise, organise and direct tradespersons including carpenters, masons, plumbers and other construction workers for projects;
• Inspect completed work and to ensure compliance with blueprints, specifications, instructions and applicable local regulations; direct any rework or modification
• Conduct periodic inspections of buildings and facilities to determine repair needs, establish and coordinate programs of preventive maintenance.
• Train and instruct employees in various construction skills
• Supervise various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules.
• Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work describe herein
