Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years work experience
• Must possess thorough understanding of the various materials and tools use for masonry or bricklaying
• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures

Responsibilities:

• Prepares surfaces before beginning work.
• Fabricates, alters, repairs, and maintains, walls, sidewalks, street curbs, floors, bathroom showers, sink counters, partitions, manholes and other related structures or surfaces.
• Lays blocks or bricks following blueprints, plans or drawings.
• Mixes cement using hoses, cement-mixing equipment, and or hand tools.
• Lays out work using chalk lines, plumb bobs, tapes, squares and levels.
• Cuts or breaks bricks and concrete using hammers, powered abrasive saws, pavement breakers, drills and hand tools.
• Estimates materials and labor.
