We are seeking a highly qualified expert to join our client in the Fiji Islands.

Harvester Operator ( Sugar Cane )

Qualifications:

• With at least 5 years of work experience in mechanical harvester operations
• Maintenance in sugar cane fields to drive the mechanical harvesters.

Responsibilities:

• May perform tasks, such as crop baling or hay bucking.
• Operate stationary equipment to perform post-harvest tasks, such as husking, shelling, threshing, and ginning.
• Mechanical harvester which move along the rows of cane removing the leafy tops of the cane and cutting the stalk into short pieces or “billets”. Billets are loaded into bins which are towed alongside the harvester.

It was incorporated by an act of parliament in 1972, to take over the milling activities from SPSM and CSR limited in 1973. Fsc operates three sugar mills, two on Viti Levu in Lautoka and Rarawai in Ba and a third in Labasa in Vanua Levu. During the crushing season, usually from May to December, Fsc is the largest private sector employer with a workforce not exceeding 1,800.
