Crane Operator
Qualifications:
- Valid Crane Operator License/Certification (e.g., Aramco, TUV, CIC, TESDA for heavy equipment operator or local regulatory body).
- Familiarity with different crane types: mobile (hydraulic, all-terrain), tower, crawler, or overhead cranes.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
- Ability to read and interpret lift plans, load charts, and rigging drawings.
- Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Operate cranes to lift, move, and position loads according to work instructions and lift plans.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and ensure the crane is in safe operating condition.
- Review load charts, lifting plans, and rigging configurations before executing lifts.
- Work closely with riggers and signalers to ensure clear communication and safe load movement.
- Monitor crane performance and report mechanical issues to maintenance personnel immediately.
- Adhere strictly to site safety guidelines, lifting standards (e.g., ASME B30.5), and local regulations.
- Maintain accurate logbooks of crane operations and inspections.
- Secure loads properly and verify that lifting gear is appropriate and certified.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses (JHAs).
- Operate cranes under various conditions, including confined spaces, elevated work zones, or offshore platforms.
