Boat Repair Technician

Qualifications:

• 25 years old & above
• Fit to work
• At least one (1) year of vocational training or college is preferred
• With relevant and continuous work experience in the past five (5) years is a must
• Overseas experience is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Fiberglass Repair: This includes knowledge of different fiberglass materials, resins, and hardeners. You should be skilled in applying fiberglass cloth, mat, and roving to repair cracks, holes, and damaged structures.
• Gelcoat Repair: Gelcoat is the glossy finish layer of fiberglass. You’ll need to be able to repair scratches, chips, and cracks in the gelcoat to maintain the boat’s cosmetic condition.
• Laminating: Laminating involves layering fiberglass materials with resin to create strong and waterproof structures.
• Power Toot Usage: Experience with using grinders, sanders, drills, and other power tools is essential for prepping surfaces, removing damaged material, and shaping repairs.
• Painting: Applying anti-fouling paint and other marine coatings to protect the repaired fiberglass is often part of the job.
• Boat Construction Knowledge: A basic understanding of boat construction, different hull types, and how fiberglass integrates with other boat components is helpful.
• Safety: Working with resins, fiberglass materials, and power tools requires adherence to safety protocols.

• Police Clearance (In all overseas country you worked for at least 12 months)
• Pay Slip (previous employer up to present)
