Automotive Mechanic

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical training program in automotive technology preferred.
• Proven experience 5 years as an automotive mechanic or technician.
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and practices within an automotive repair environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical strength and dexterity to handle tools and perform manual tasks.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and fluid checks to ensure vehicles operate efficiently.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
• Conduct tests to verify proper functionality and adherence to safety standards.
• Repair or replace defective parts, such as belts, hoses, bearings, and sensors.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
• Stay updated with technological advancements and changes in automotive systems through ongoing training and education.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while handling tools and working on vehicles.
